Grapevine Lacrosse Women’s Head Coach
Grapevine Lacrosse is currently seeking a Head Coach for the Women’s program. Grapevine Lacrosse
was founded in 2018. Since then the program has grown, offering a competitive program for students
attending Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School as well as neighboring
high schools without a lacrosse program. This includes teaching the fundamental skills, the
essentials of team play, proper physical conditioning, a competitive atmosphere, and most
importantly, good sportsmanship and a commitment to excellence on and off the field.
Description of the Position
Manage and coordinate the operations of the Women’s High School Lacrosse program. In addition to
coaching duties, the High School coach will also be a mentor and advisor to the team and represent
the program to the broader lacrosse community in North Texas as well as the State of Texas.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Strong communication and leadership qualities
● Strong leadership presence and presentation skills to motivate high school student-athletes
● Excellent organizational skills
● Ability to collaborate effectively with GLA board members, other support members, and youth
coaches
● Strong vision for developing a grass roots feeder system down to youth level
● Previous experience as a head coaching- program director (preferred, not required)
Specific Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain a culture for the program that supports Grapevine Lacrosse’s Core Values
● Develop a strategy to compete for a State Championship
● Develop and implement an organized, consistent warm-up routine
● Develop a specific conditioning program and drills
● Ensure all players learn all aspects of the game and have proper opportunities to develop
these skills in practice and games
● Communicate effectively and collaborate with players, parents, and the Grapevine Lacrosse
Board on program development, scheduling, player recruitment, volunteer support, player discipline,
and program policies
● Attend all high school games and practices
● Manage game-day operations
● Communicate with other high school coaches and utilize outside resources (HUDL, team training
opportunities, team “parent”, etc.)
● Communicate important information regarding team news, practice, game changes, etc. to players
and parents in a timely and professional manner,
● Coordinate with the league to schedule games and tournaments
● Facilitate planned clinics for fundraisers and recruitment efforts
● Along with appropriate Board member, attend League meeting representing Grapevine Lacrosse
● Maintain a positive, inclusive, and inspirational culture and attitude towards the team
● Abide by all organization and league policies
● Clearly articulate player and parent expectations at least two times per year (fall and spring
seasons) and hold parties accountable enlisting Board assistance when needed
